This hotel has 230 guestrooms, all of which differ in size and shape due to the many canal houses that have become part of the hotel building. Guestrooms are decorated with cherrywood furniture, original exposed wooden beams and artwork. Desks have chrome and black desk lamps with wireless internet connection (fee). Pulitzer café/bar/restaurant - The café/bar/restaurant area of the hotel has large windows and high ceilings, with a 9-meter 21st-century version of “The Last Supper” painting. The decor is black and white, with armchairs and lush red sofa benches. With street access, the breakfast, lunch and dinner served is available to guests and the public. Brunch is served up until 2 PM on weekends. The Bar at Hotel Pulitzer - Situated next door to the café/restaurant is the hotel bar with three separate lounge room areas. The main bar room is painted midnight blue and has low gray upholstered armchairs creating a dark intimate atmosphere. The bar also has a great view of the Keizergracht canal and can be entered from the street. The Rendez-Vous - This lounge bar is located in the hotel lobby area, beside the internal courtyard. Tea, coffee and light snacks are available to be eaten anywhere within the lobby or courtyard area. French glass doors open out into the courtyard with stylish wicker furniture for the summer months. For less temperate seasons, intimate sofas and armchairs are located throughout the lobby.

What to expect: Directly off the bustling canal-lined street, a large revolving door leads into the reception area with cushion filled sofas, leather armchairs and striking flower arrangements. In October 2000, a $33 million refurbishment was completed, preserving original Dutch features such as marble stairways, exposed wooden beams and baroque plasterwork. The 25 canal houses, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, create a labyrinth of corridors, courtyards and discreet areas for businesspeople, art lovers and couples on weekends. The hotel organizes boat trips of the Amsterdam canals, and a concierge is also on hand to recommend local attractions. Insider tip: The hotel has its own motor launch moored in front of the hotel. Built in 1909, the polished brass trimmings and glassed indoor cabin allows guests to explore the Amsterdam canals in style.
